Pac-Man Made From Stuff

So I've had this idea for a while about finding objects that remind me of pop culture. I ended up with a weird circle of wood (a by product of drilling a door for a handle/lock) and thought it reminded me of Pac-Man. So I threw this little work together out of found and 'junk' objects.

The objects making up this work are: the aforementioned wood round piece, plus that bit of black wood board, a couple of buttons, a bit of a plastic wall hanger and a piece of a phone wire.

Thanks Boing Boing for lighting the fire, now I'll have to go back to my sketchbook and work on the other ones of the series.

When Gummi Bears Attack!

So I heard for the first time ever that Gummi Bears can be used to spoof fingerprint scanners. (thanks macggekgab podcast!) So this movie poster is what popped out of my head!

Meanwhile on the M. Falcon, Molly Gets A Blackberry

What's this I heard, Molly has a Blackberry? Of course this pops into my head. Kinda goes with this older post. When Molly got an iPhone. Good times.
Of course if she switches back to a Treo, I'll have to kill a Taun-Taun.

Good Morning Gadgettes...

This episode of the Gadgettes Podcast was so funny, I just had this idea flashing through my head, the whole time I listened to it. Also I was picturing Bryan Tong as Bosley.

Marshmallow Privileges

When you are a mom, you'll threaten a lot of things, including the loss of Marshmallow Privileges.
Liked the idea so much, I stuck it on a t-shirt here.

So that's why they call it Fingerhut..."
I just always wondered why that catalog was called Fingerhut. This seems as good a reason as any!

I don't know who said Tempest in a Twitter Teapot on Buzz Out Loud first but I thought it was too fun not to draw. Also Twitter is my new addiction. Let's follow @shealadraws.

I don't know who said 'moustronauts' but there was a news story about sending mice into space. I'm pretty sure mice are going into space for one reason alone. That is to get a slice of moon cheese!

The Queen's Wii

I can't believe it's been so long since I posted. I've had plenty of ideas running around my brain and lots of sketches. But I suppose there was school and work and the holidays and the robbery.
But now I have a few things lined up. The first of which is...
The Queen's Wii. I don't remember where I first heard the Queen of England liked to play the Wii, but I was positively sure that Nintendo would make her a special WiiMote. In the shape of a scepter.

Triple Thursday

I like the idea of riding around on a Chia pet. seems like a comfy way to travel or just laze around. Mario Hamdretti explains itself. Since reading 'the Mouse and the Motorcycle' as a kid, I always wanted a rodent who could tool around in a small powered car. As for Granny smack down, well...it's like a cat fight but with more grey hair and funnier expressions.

Vacationing Cows

Under discussion, Where do cows go on vacation?" This Mexican spot seems as good a place as any.

death star blows up!

Holy Bantha Puddu!
On Monday's Buzz Out Loud, we found out Molly Wood bought an iPhone. This is the scene that went through my mind when I heard that. Also, I can't believe I don't have one yet. Curse you SPRINT!

Puffy Cats

SO on this episode of Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me, Paula Poundstone explained that her cats got puffy before the recent earthquake. It's a sort of pre-warning system, if you pay attention.

Peter Sagal suspected the cats go puffy, so they could bounce off the walls as a defense mechanism.

And I just love drawing funny pictures of cats. Also I've noticed that I get most of my news from pop culture stuff.

bugs can drive

So I was listening to one of the Scientific American podcasts (sciam.com) and Steve Mirsky mentions how he saw a bug big enough to carjack a Mini in New York city. A bug driving a VW bug is worn, but a bug driving a Mini Cooper, hilarious!

Joker and Batman Have Tea

So Mike Schmidt the comedian, mentioned on his podcast, that he was so looking forward to seeing The Dark Knight. He is such a Batman fan that he would even watch a documentary of Batman and the Joker having tea. That cracked me up. It's not a podcast for kids.
